Shoei Full Face Helmet - Qwest H-0115-0105-02

SHOEI QWEST FULL-FACE STREET TOURING HELMET Aerodynamic Shell Design • Aerodynamic properties are maximized through extensive wind tunnel and professional riders’ feedback • Dual Layer EPS liner enhances impact absorption and ventilation • Five shell and six EPS liner sizes present increased fit options that help to comfortably fit most head sizes • Molded air spoiler to reduce drag and lift as well as diminish weight pressure on the neck while riding at high speeds Ventilation System • Upper Air Intake Vent is positioned to maximize air volume into the helmet interior • Large upper intake vent positioned to maximize performance in high wind conditions • Easy to operate large lower intake vent • Lower air intake/defroster vent reduces shield fogging and increases ventilation • The rear/neck outlets allow for effective air exhaust • Breath guard and chin curtain included Lightweight Advanced Integrated Matrix Plus (AIM+) • High performance fiber materials are combined with extremely elastic organic fibers to create a shell structure that is ultra lightweight, rigid and resilient Interior System • 3-D center pad and multi-layered, polyurethane foam cheek pads • Cheek pads are replaceable or removable for maintenance • Eyeglass compatible interior Standard Chin-Strap Clip • Neatly secures chin strap CW-1 Shield and Q.R.S.A. System • Q.R.S.A. (Quick-Release Self-Adjusting) base plate allows for tool-less shield removal and installation. The spring-loaded base plate (U.S. patent pending 11/799935) pulls the shield back to contact the window beading evenly and ensures a proper seal • The CW-1, three-dimensionally curved shield is both wider and taller than the CX-1V it replaces • Optional, CWF-1 two-dimensional Pinlock® equipped racing shields with tear-off posts are available • Scratch-resistant coating • 99.9% protection from harmful UV A & B rays • Optional, CW-1 Pinlock® prepared shields are available to accommodate Pinlock® Fog Free Inserts • A pre-set lever can easily lock the shield in place to prevent the shield from opening unexpectedly, as well as prop the shield open to increase airflow TECHNICAL INFORMATION Standards: Snell-M2010, DOT Construction: AIM+ (Advanced Integrated Matrix Plus Multi Fiber) Weight: 3.644 lbs / 1,653 grams (approx, for Size Medium Solid Color) AERODYNAMICS SHOEI’S exclusive, state-of-the-art shell forming technology incorporates the aerodynamic advantages of a spoiler right into the shell of the Qwest. Maintaining a consistent shell thickness to guarantee proper strength and weight, the Qwest’s shell-integrated spoiler reduces lift and drag during high-speed riding, yielding a stable, less fatiguing ride. NOISE REDUCTION It is no secret that long time exposure to engine and wind noise is a major cause of fatigue, something no motorcycle rider should have to risk. The Qwest’s flush surface design significantly diminishes excessive wind blast, reducing strain on both ears and neck while cruising the open road. A special integrated neck pad also reinforces stability and cuts invasive noise. Thanks to countless hours in SHOEI’S in-house wind tunnels, the Qwest offers a reduction of wind noise without blocking the road’s “informative sounds”, thanks to optimal shell aerodynamics and liner components designed to prevent unwanted road noises from entering through the bottom of the helmet. The result: A maximum 2.2-decibel reduction in sound (noise levels vary based on motorcycle type, riding position, environmental sounds, etc). FROM THE INSIDE The interior of the Qwest helmet comprises a 3-D center pad and a multi-layered, polyurethane foam cheek pad. By varying the softness of the liner’s foam padding, the Qwest’s liner allows for a soft touch next to the rider’s head, while firmer foam helps achieve an ideal fit. Channels within the liner allow for eyeglass or sunglass frames, and all cheek pads are replaceable or removable for maintenance and cleaning. GO WITH THE FLOW The Qwest helmet’s revamped ventilation system incorporates a large upper intake positioned to maximize air flow, especially behind the windshields of touring motorcycles. The lower intake is also larger to improve ease of adjustment while riding. Utilizing SHOEI’S wind tunnels to help reveal the optimal balance between airflow and silence, SHOEI engineers equipped the all-new Qwest helmet with a larger lower vent shutter for easier use with riding gloves — a strategically-positioned upper vent for optimal air intake, and uniquely-positioned upper exhaust vents to take better advantage of negative pressure suction — all yielding dramatically improved cool air intake and hot air exhaust. BREATHING HELMET SHOEI’S Dual-Layer EPS liner utilizes an air route between two layers of impact-absorbing EPS material, distributing fresh air from the front intake vents to the rider’s head and exhausting hot air through the rear outlets. SHIELD SYSTEM SHOEI’S CW-1 face shield utilizes SHOEI’S Quick-Release Self-Adjusting (Q.R.S.A.) base plate to allow for tool-less removal and installation. The base plate is spring-loaded and pulls the shield back onto the helmet, sealing it tightly against wind and rain, and eliminating the need for adjustment. The CW-1 shield is both taller and wider than the CX-1V it replaces and special shields are available to accommodate Pinlock® Fog-Free Lenses. An optional Pinlock® ready CWF-1 model includes posts for tear-off
